Altuglas® Technology, a new Vision of light

Altuglas International extensive product line meets nearly all the needs of the Construction market.
From standard to very high impact PMMA, Altuglas® can be used in applications such as bowls, light fittings, globes, diffusers, reflectors.

Altuglas® acrylic resins are clearly the leading choice for lenses in commercial, industrial, residential and roadway lighting applications. They deliver outstanding optics, scratch and chemical resistance, toughness and long-term performance. They also offer exceptional processing characteristics and cost/performance benefits. Altuglas resins are easily extruded, thermoformed and injection moulded.

Altuglas International has developed a range of Altuglas® grades specially suited for lighting.

This range offers designers:

  • Ease of fabrication using injection, blow-moulding, extrusion and thermoforming
  • Resistance to continuous temperatures up to 100° C
  • Transparency and excellent optical properties, stable over time (e.g. light transmission between 89 % and 92 %, depending on the grade, with very low yellowing)
  • Resistance to ultraviolet, weather and sea air
  • Various levels of impact resistance
  • High resistance to chemicals
  • Frosted aspect
