The Arts Décoratifs Museum of Paris presented an exhibition on furniture and items designed by architect Jean Nouvel, from 27 October 2016 to 12 February 2017.
It looked back, revealed and put in perspective the little known side of this "architect who designs", as he likes to say. Advocating an "anti-design approach", his furniture and items aim to be essentially practical and meticulous. And this is what ensured his success: since 1987, the architect has produced some hundred creations.
Several color blocks were chosen by Jean Nouvel’s team of designers to create illuminated tables with their soft yet solid look. The design work for this furniture made with Altuglas® involved working with teams from Artemide, a virtuoso light design house.
The materials are enhanced, hollowed and stacked to create an unrivaled design experience. Jean Nouvel harnesses the possibilities offered by Altuglas® acrylic glass and makes the most of them with stunning contrasts.
